Yesterday, the sophomore release of the Villiger Miami began shipping to stores.

It’s the Villiger Miami 2023, a 5 7/8 x 53 parejo vitola the company calls cañonazo. Blend-wise, this is different than last year’s inaugural Villiger Miami. This year’s cigar uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a mixture of tobaccos from undisclosed origins with the exception of Villiger disclosing that at least one of the filler tobaccos is from Peru.

ABAM Cigars S.R.L., the same Dominican factory that made the 2022 version of the Villiger Miami, is making this year’s release.

The MSRP is set at $17 per cigar and production is limited to 1,000 boxes of 10 cigars.

As for why Miami is part of the name despite the cigar being made in the Dominican Republic, it’s because the original Villiger Miami blend was given out to people who stopped by Villiger Cigars North America’s office in Miami. Last year, that blend went into production as a limited edition offered in two sizes.
