Just about a week ago, Viaje announced that it was releasing Blunderbuss and Dark Matter, two new cigars that are part of the company’s White Label Project (WLP). It turns out that some stores will also be getting a third WLP release called Szivar EL.

At least two stores have begun posting that they will receive the cigar, listing it as a 5 1/2 x 50 box-pressed robusto, but with no details about the blend disclosed thus far. One retailer who is selling full boxes lists it as coming in boxes of 25 cigars with pricing set at $256 per box and $10.24 per cigar. The Szivar EL appears to get its name from the Hungarian word for cigar, while the EL designation would seem to stand for Edición Limitada.

One retailer described the cigar as being an exclusive release for Viaje’s preferred retailers. When asked for comment about the cigar, a representative from Viaje told halfwheel that he “didn’t know anything about this one, sorry.”

It appears that the Viaje WLP Szivar is not yet in stores, as the retailers who have posted about the cigar are calling it a pre-order, with it due to arrive in the coming week.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
