A new limited edition from VegaFina is being released to pay homage to the brand’s home country of the Dominican Republic.

That cigar is the Classic Tributo, a 4 3/4 x 48 parejo that will be made up of Dominican tobacco that has been aged for three years. According to the company, the vitola name is Dominicus which references a religious order that named the island of the Dominican Republic.

In a press release, Tabacalera S.L.U. states that the Classic Tributo cigars will be packaged in 10-count boxes which include a drawing depicting “typical elements from the Dominican Republic, such as the sun, the sea, the palm trees or the country’s national bird, along with others that represents its prestigious tobacco culture, such as the tobacco fields and the hands of the renowned Dominican rollers.”

Each cigar will be priced at €5.20 ($5.33) when it debuts in Spain this week, with other countries around the world scheduled to receive the cigars “soon.” Like most VegaFina products, it is not expected to be sold in the U.S.

I have worn many hats in my life up to this point: I started out as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, then transitioned to photographing weddings—both internationally and in the U.S.—for more than a decade. After realizing that there was a need for a cigar website containing better photographs and more in-depth information about each release, I founded my first cigar blog, SmokingStogie, in 2008. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars, and it was one of the predecessors to halfwheel, which I co-founded.
