This year, Oscar Valladares released a new line of cigars—pardon the pun—aimed at those who enjoy a cigar while hunting. Dubbed the Wild Hunter, it’s a Honduran puro that is offered with two wrapper options, a natural and a maduro, though the latter bears a foot band declaring it an oscuro.
Valladares is no stranger to Honduran tobacco and loves to show it off—as well as the pride he has in Honduras. The Wild Hunter Natural did just that; showcasing the best of Honduran terroir and never trying to do too much with the blend, delivering a very palate pleasing menu of earth, cream and pepper.
The Wild Hunter Natural proved to be a solid entry into a catalog with some already impressive options, and as I noted in my review, it’s a cigar worth getting in your sights, regardless of whether or not you’re the hunting type. — Patrick Lagreid.
