Davidoff Limited Edition 2024 Year of the Dragon

Late last year, Gurkha filed a trademark lawsuit over Davidoff’s Limited Edition 2024 Year of the Dragon cigar. The two sides are also fighting a related legal dispute at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

While Davidoff has gotten one of four counts removed, the case will continue.

At one of the company’s flagship store in Manhattan, the price works out to roughly $200 per cigar.

Last week, Davidoff asked a federal court to throw out Gurkha’s Year of the Dragon-related lawsuit.

Each sampler will contain 96 cigars, eight of the 12 main Davidoff Year of/Zodiac Series cigars ranging from the Year of the Snake (2013) to the Year of the Dragon (2024).

Gurkha claims that the Davidoff Limited Edition 2024 Year of the Dragon cigar(s) violate its various dragon trademarks, including a pending one for “Year of Dragon.”

The most important Davidoff release of the year is now in stores.

The standard Year of the Dragon will be a 7 1/2 x 50 double corona with a brushed foot, something rarely seen on a Davidoff cigar. A more elusive 6 x 56 gran toro will be sold at Davidoff flagship stores and in $49,000 Masterpiece Humidors.
