To celebrate his birthday, Vlada Stojanov—the owner of Somm Cigars—made himself a corona gorda size of the Somm BDX. While his birthday has passed, a small amount of the BDX Corona Gordas are now shipping to stores.

The cigars are the traditional 5 5/8 x 46 corona gorda vitola. They use the same blend as the BDX, short for Bourdeaux, one of the first two blends released from Somm when the company debuted last year. That means a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a viso binder from Jalapa, Nicaragua and fillers from Mexico’s San Andrés region and Nicaragua’s Jalapa region, along with broadleaf grown in Honduras. BDX is made at Fábrica Centroamericana de Tabaco S.A. in Honduras.

Each cigar has an MSRP of $13 and the release is limited to 260 bundles of 10 cigars.

“The Corona Gorda is one of my favorite sizes, and I am extremely happy with how the blend is showcased in this format,” said Stojanov in a press release. “I originally made these for myself as a birthday present last year, and after a few people tried them and fell in love with the profile, I decided to release an extremely limited production run this year.”
