Selim Hanono’s time at A.J. Fernández Cigar Co. will just be a single year.

Hanono has left his position as the chief operations officer of A.J. Fernández, a role he started last December.

“I would like to thank AJ and the Fernandez family for the opportunity, trust and his support not only during this past year but also moving forward,” said Hanon in a statement to halfwheel. “The friendship we built is stronger than ever and AJ has opened his doors to me and I have his full support on whatever I decide to do in the future. “

Hanono is best known for his nearly decade-long tenure at Drew Estate where he oversaw large events and trade shows, an inside sales force and assisted in international sales. Prior to that, he worked for Caribe Imports, the former owner of Camacho, as well as Miami-based cigar retailers.

I am an editor and co-founder of halfwheel.com/Rueda Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
