S.T. Dupont Year of the Dragon Collections Begin Shipping

The upcoming Chinese New Year will mark the year of the dragon on the Chinese Zodiac calendar. Multiple cigar companies are celebrating with limited edition dragon-themed cigars. So is S.T. Dupont, the French accessory company.

There are three different dragon-themed collections from the company. The most widely available is the Year of the Dragon, offered in both black and red colorways.

Eight different items are offered, none of which are new, though this is the first time for these colorways:

• S.T. Dupont maxiJet Year of the Dragon — $290
• S.T. Dupont D-Initial Year of the Dragon — $295
• S.T. Dupont 2-Cigar Case Year of the Dragon — $295
• S.T. Dupont 2 Cigar Case Scales — $295
• S.T. Dupont Ashtray Year of the Dragon — $550
• S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Year of the Dragon — $1,695
• S.T. Dupont Eternity Fountain/Rollerball Year of the Dragon — $1,995

There’s also the S.T. Dupont Dragon Scales Collection, which is offered in three different colorways: blue/pink gold, honey/gold and red/gold. The three higher-priced items within this collection use guilloche, an engraving technique, to create a pattern that S.T. Dupont says mimics the scales of a dragon.

The three most affordable items—maxiJet, Slim 7 and the Eternity Ballpoint pen—have solid colors without the guilloche.

Each item, with the exception of the 2 Cigar Case, is offered in all three colors.

For those interested in spending the price of a used car on cigar accessories, there’s also the Haute Creation Year of the Dragon. These pieces are made of bronze with 18k gold plating. Unlike the other pieces, these are made to order, meaning they will take six months to make.
