The baby S.T. Dupont is back with some updates.

S.T. Dupont has announced that it has updated its Initial lighter, which serves as a smaller and more affordable soft-flame lighter compared to the company’s iconic Ligne 2. S.T. Dupont introduced the Initial in 2016, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the company’s first lighter, which was commissioned by the Maharaja of Patiala.

Like the Ligne 2, the Initial is a soft flame lighter that features two soft flames that are designed to merge into one larger soft flame to make it easier to toast the foot of a cigar. It appears the new version of the Initial is the same size—it’s listed at 1.37 inches x 2.24 .43—and has many of the same features. Compared to the Ligne 2, the Initial has rounded edges and a smaller presence. In addition, the bottom of the lighter features simpler fuel adjustment and refill options.

There are currently four finishes of the new Initial:

  • S.T. Dupont Initial Diagonal Palladium
  • S.T. Dupont Initial Diamond Head Palladium
  • S.T. Dupont Initial Golden Diagonal
  • S.T. Dupont Initial Golden Diamond Head

All four are listed at the same €555 ($592) price on S.T. Dupont’s European website, though prices will vary depending on the country.

According to Coles of London, S.T. Dupont’s U.S. distributor, it’s unclear if these lighters will be sold in the U.S.
