At last month’s 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, S.T. Dupont showed off a new collection consisting of new sinister-looking accessories that honors Havana, the capital of Cuba.
These items are all part of the new El Rey de la Habana series, which is part of S.T. Dupont’s flagship Haute Creation collection. All of the items are made using red bronze, which is then covered in ceramic lacquer. El Rey de la Habana is Spanish for the king of Havana. The series is not related to El Rey de los Habanos, a name used by My Father, which translates to the king of cigars.
One of the more interesting items is actually a cigar lighter and cutter that are paired together in a custom stand. The lighter is the Le Grand Dupont lighter, which has both double soft flames and a single-flame torch in one body, but with a much larger custom case. The cutter is S.T. Dupont’s Double Guillotine cutter, again completely customized.
The two are placed on this base which is reminiscent of the Malecón and the Castillo del Morro that line Cuba’s waterways.
There’s also a customized soft flame lighter, seemingly a Ligne 2, priced at $9,950. It does not come with a base.
The final lighter option is a custom version of the Défi XXtrême lighter, a dual-flame torch lighter, it is priced at $1,895.
Coles of London—S.T. Dupont’s U.S. distributor—also showed off a one-cigar ashtray that is priced at $5,250.
Finally, there are also cufflinks, which are priced at $1,295.
Outside of the cufflinks and the Défi XXtrême El Rey de la Habana, all items are limited to 88 pieces. The Défi XXtrême is limited to up to 288 numbered pieces, the cufflinks are not numbered.
Haute Creation products are made to order and typically carry five-, sometimes even six-figure price points. Once a Haute Creation order is placed, it typically takes around a couple of months for S.T. Dupont to produce and ship the purchased items.
