At the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show, Room101 will be releasing a cigar celebrating its 12th anniversary as well as adding a new size and blend to The Big Payback.
According to a report by Cigar Aficionado, the Room101 12th Anniversary is a Nicaraguan puro that is offered in a 6 x 52 toro vitola. It is made at A.J. Fernandez’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, with Fernandez growing all of the tobacco as well. It will be priced at $11 per cigar, with 1,001 boxes of 20 cigars being produced.
The Big Payback line will be getting a new blend that features an Ecuadorian Sumatra blend, Honduran binder and Nicaraguan filler. It will have at least one size when it debuts, a 4 x 50 short robusto that is called the El Gran Papi Chulo that is also being added to The Big Payback Maduro.
Both versions will be priced at $5.99 and offered in 50-count cabinets, according to the report. The Big Payback is produced at General Cigar Co.’s Honduras American Tobacco S.A. factory, often referred to as HATSA.
Firm shipping dates have not yet been announced, but the 12th Anniversary is slated to begin shipping by the end of the summer, while the El Gran Papi Chulos will begin shipping in the fall.
Matt Booth has not yet confirmed the accuracy of the report, but did refer a request for comment to that story.
