Quesada Cigars is now shipping a new limited release that commemorates the company’s 50 years in the cigar industry.

The Quesada 50th Anniversary includes two different vitolas, both of which will be packaged in 10-count boxes: a 6 1⁄4 x 56 Toro Prensado with an MSRP of $17, and a 6 x 60 Perfecto with an MSRP of $19 each. The Toro Prensado is limited to 2,200 boxes while the Perfecto is limited to only 200 boxes.

Blend-wise, both cigars are composed of an Ecuadorian habano wrapper covering a Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos grown in the Dominican Republic and Peru. The cigars are being rolled at the company’s Tabacos de Exportación factory in the Dominican Republic.

“Having had the privilege of participating as our industry grew and evolved, we looked at the fifty years of our history and developed a cigar that will reflect our manufacturing and blending traditions,” said Manuel Quesada via a press release when the cigars were announced. “As we have commemorated other anniversaries, reaching fifty years as a premium cigar manufacturing company is a milestone to be celebrated.”

In addition, Quesada created two special humidors as part of the release, each containing 100 box-pressed 6 1⁄4 x 56 Toro Prensado cigars and 10 6 x 60 Perfectos. One of those humidors was sold for $9,000 during ProCigar 2024 in February, the proceeds of which benefitted three charities in the Dominican Republic: A Home for My Family, Hospicio San Vicente de Paúl, and Voluntariado Jesús con los Niños. According to Quesada Cigars, the other humidor will remain with the Quesada family.

In an email, Enrique Tavarez, vp of sales for Quesada Cigars, told halfwheel that boxes of the 50th Anniversary started shipping to retailers in the U.S. today, while stores in China and the EU will be receiving boxes “by next month.”

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
