This year marks the 20th anniversary of Prometheus’ God of Fire brand, and the company is celebrating by releasing new cigars and accessories.

God of Fire KKP Never Back Down is a two-vitola line made up of all Dominican tobacco, including an upper priming wrapper grown on Arturo Fuente’s Chateau de la Fuente farm. There will be two different vitolas, the Gran Toro 56 (6 x 56) and the Piramide 58 (5 1/4 x 58); both sizes have an MSRP of $53.95 per cigar.

According to Prometheus, there will be two different releases of the Never Back Down cigars: a four-count assortment box and a 10-count assortment box will ship to retailers later this month, while 10-count boxes of both vitolas will follow in the fourth quarter.

The four-count Travel Humidors will be available in two different finishes—Limited Edition Black Lacquer and Limited Edition Macassar Ebony—both of which have an MSRP of $249. Each version is limited to 150 units and includes four cigars:

  • God of Fire KKP Special Reserve Piramide 58 (5 1/4 x 58)

  • God of Fire KKP Never Back Down Gran Toro 56 (6 x 56)
  • God of Fire KKP Special Reserve Gran Toro 56 (6 x 56)

The 10-count Travel Humidors will be available in the same Limited Edition Black Lacquer and Limited Edition Macassar Ebony finishes as the four-count versions. Once again, each colorway is limited to 150 units, but the MSRP of the larger Travel Humidors is set at $450.

Both of the Never Back Down vitolas will also be available in 10-count Limited Edition Black Lacquer Travel Humidors, which will have an MSRP of $539.50 each and are scheduled to ship to retailers in the fourth quarter.

As part of the celebration, Prometheus is adding the God of Fire KKP Special Reserve Toro Extra 54, a new 5 1/4 x 54 size. It has an MSRP of $53.95.

All of the cigars are scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter of 2024.

I have worn many hats in my life up to this point: I started out as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, then transitioned to photographing weddings—both internationally and in the U.S.—for more than a decade. After realizing that there was a need for a cigar website containing better photographs and more in-depth information about each release, I founded my first cigar blog, SmokingStogie, in 2008. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars, and it was one of the predecessors to halfwheel, which I co-founded.
