November 23, 2012 — As part of its management reorganization, Corporación Habanos, S.A. announces the appointment of Mr. Walfrido Hernández Mesa as Co-President of Habanos, S.A., while Mr. Jorge Luis Fernández Maique will assume the responsibility of Commercial Vice-President.

Prior to his appointment in this position, Mr. Walfrido Hernández Mesa was Vice-President for Logistics of Habanos, S.A.

Mr. Hernández was born in San Luis, neighborhood of El Corojo, located in the center of the tobacco zone of Vuelta Abajo, province of Pinar del Río. Graduated as Agricultural Engineer, he has a vast experience in the Cuban tobacco industry, which he joined in 1978 while leading a tobacco plantation in his home town. He was later appointed Director of the Tobacco Enterprise in Pinar del Río, and afterwards of the “Lázaro Peña” Tobacco Enterprise in Partido region. Before joining Corporación Habanos, S.A., Mr. Hernández was General Vice-President of Tabacuba.

Upon receiving his appointment, Mr. Hernández expressed his disposition to dedicate all his efforts to work in order to maintain the leadership of Habanos, S.A. in the Premium Tobacco segment.
