As expected, Prairie Village, Kan. raised the minimum age to purchase tobacco from 18 to 21.

The new law will require individuals to be 21 to purchase cigars, cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, e-cigarette and vapor products.

Prairie Village has a population of around 20,000 and is located just south of Kansas City.

It becomes the sixth city in the area to raise the minimum age to purchase tobacco since November following Kansas City, Kan. and Kansas City Mo., Gladstone, Independence and Olathe.
