PDR Cigars has begun shipping its Flores y Rodriguez 18th Anniversary line, which it showed off at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show and had originally been slated for a late August or early September release.

The blend is a spin on the Flores y Rodriguez 10th Anniversary, with this cigar using an Ecuadorian Sumatra maduro wrapper in place of the 10th Anniversary’s Ecuadorian habano wrapper. Underneath that maduro wrapper is a Dominican olor binder and a filler that includes seven-year-old piloto cubano tobacco from the Dominican Republic, as well as Jalapa-grown viso leaves from Nicaragua.

The line is available in five sizes:

  • Flores y Rodriguez 18th Anniversary Millefleurs Corona (5 x 42) — $5.71 (Box of 24, $137)
  • Flores y Rodriguez 18th Anniversary Robusto (5 x 52) — $13.24 (Box of 24, $317.68)
  • Flores y Rodriguez 18th Anniversary Wide Churchill (5 1/8 x 58) — $14.71 (Box of 24, $352.98)
  • Flores y Rodriguez 18th Anniversary Grand Toro (6 x 54) — $16.18 (Box of 24, $388.28)
  • Flores y Rodriguez 18th Anniversary Figurado (6 1/2 x 52) — $17.65 (Box of 24, $432.58)

The Flores y Rodriguez 18th Anniversary is a regular production line.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
