For many years now, Graycliff has seemed to be pulling further and further back on its display and presence at the PCA Convention and Trade Show. Between 2017-2021, the company only announced one new cigar and the booth spaces kept getting smaller and less intricate. In 2021, there was a small area rug, a single table, four chairs and some bookshelves to display the cigars. Graycliff wasn’t the only company that was pulling back on booth displays in 2021, but it had seemed to be heading that way well before the first post-pandemic PCA event.

An interesting thing happened at PCA 2022. That year, Graycliff teamed up with musical artist P La Cangri, which both literally and figuratively brought life back to the booth. Besides a party-like atmosphere with dance music playing all day, Cangri’s cigar Boss of the Block along with Graycliff’s 50th Anniversary both debuted at the show.

This year, the booth was on an endcap instead of tucked away in an aisle and featured a larger footprint with Cangri’s DJ setup. Besides the shelves you can see in the photo above, there were some gold shelves behind the DJ setup displaying additional cigars. With what seemed to be a steady flow of people in the booth, along with the lively music playing from Cangri’s station, the Graycliff booth was maybe the most lively I think I’ve ever seen it.

Quality Importers Humidor Supreme Cigar Tower Boss of the Block P La Cangri Special Edition

One of the most eye-catching things in the booth was the collaboration between Quality Importers and the Boss of the Block line to create this colorful, graffiti-inspired tower humidor. It holds 2,000 cigars, or if that’s too big for your needs, a half-sized humidor is also available. The smaller humidor was not on display, but Cangri did mention it retails for $2,000.

MSRP: $4,000

Release Date: July 2023

New Graycliff Bands

In an effort to refresh the look of what Graycliff president Paolo Garzaroli called a more classic cigar band look, all of the current Graycliff cigars are getting new, full-length wraps on their cigars. In the second photo, you can see the old-style band on the left, with the second cigar showing off the smaller band underneath the new wraps and then three cigars featuring the new wrap. The new packaging is already being shipped to Graycliff retailers.

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
