Like seemingly most Europeans who planned on attending the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show, Dr. Pablo Richard ran into difficulty getting the proper approval to travel to the U.S. to attend the event. That means that neither Richard, Patoro’s founder, nor the new company’s new U.S. release are on hand.

As for the booth, it’s part of the De Los Reyes et al. group—De Los Reyes makes Patoro—and is more or less a section of the booth. While this makes for a bit less compelling booth pictures, this is a much more efficient use of resources for a company like Patoro than having its own 10 x 10 booth.

Patoro VA XO Extra Robusto

Like many other Patoro VA XOs, this vitola was already released in Europe—more than a decade ago—but hasn’t been offered in the U.S. up until this point. Mike Wydra, the director of U.S. operations, told me the cigars are already in the U.S. and will begin shipping this month. That being said, the cigars aren’t on display in Las Vegas. Regular readers of halfwheel will know that this blend has scored very well on this site over the last couple of years and this is no exception, Brooks recently gave the cigar a 92.
