Oliva Opens Second Nicaragua Factory
There’s a second TABOLISA.
Last week, Oliva Cigar Co. opened its new Tabacalera Oliva de Estelí II factory. The new facility is the second new manufacturing facility the company has opened in the last year, the other was a box factory. TABOLISA II is a cigar rolling operation that can make up to 25,000 cigars daily.
Cory Bappert, Oliva’s ceo, told halfwheel that the factory will mainly produce Flor de Oliva Gold, Oliva Connecticut Reserve and NUb.

Oliva is not done. The company will begin construction on the original TABOLISA factory next month. Once completed, the company expects that the total projects will have added an additional 40 percent capacity. Bappert declined to say how many cigars Oliva is making.
In 2016, J. Cortès purchased Oliva Cigar Co. Since the purchase, the company has invested in expansion projects in Nicaragua, including modernization efforts already implemented at the original TABOLISA factory.
