The Reserva Toro measures 6 x 52 and uses a Mexican San Andrés habano wrapper that has been aged for eight years. Underneath that is a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Peru. It comes with a hefty $37 price tag, with the cigars offered in five-count high gloss piano black boxes. It is scheduled to begin shipping in October.

Joining the company’s Leyenda line is the Special Edition, a 6 x 54 toro gordo. It uses an aged Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Honduras. It is offered at $28 per cigar, with the company limited production to just 500 boxes of 10 cigars. Shipping is slated to start in early July, following the conclusion of the trade show.

Rounding out the new offerings is the Migdalia Corona Extra, which measures 6 x 46 and is priced at $9. It is wrapped in a Mexican San Andrés habano leaf that has been aged for four years and sits atop a Sumatran binder with Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. The size is offered in 24-count boxes and is scheduled to ship immediately after the trade show.

“We are very grateful for the growth with our retail partners this year, and I know the Reserva Toro, Leyenda Special Edition, and Migdalia Corona Extra are going to be sought after by your customers and the Micallef Ambassadors”, said Al Micallef, president and ceo of Micallef Cigars, via a press release.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
