Meerapfel Cigar has announced its newest cigar release, a limited edition called Création Liberté that the company is using to help raise funds for organizations that support cigar rights around the world.
The cigar is a 6 x 50 toro that uses the Meerapfel family’s signature Cameroon wrapper over an undisclosed binder and filler, with production limited to just 1,226 cigars for a global release.
Création Liberté is presented in two-count, Paulownia wood chests that are priced at $240 per chest in the U.S. and €240 elsewhere. The company says that funds raised from the cigar will be used to support platforms around the world that defend the rights of individuals to enjoy premium cigars, including Cigar Rights of America.
Each set also includes a numbered lithographic artwork.
“Fierce anti-tobacco movements continue to infringe on fundamental rights and the liberties of responsible adult citizens,” the company said in a press release. “Now more than ever, the global fight for cigar rights has become vital for the survival of a multi-century-old cigar heritage, our culture and traditional craftsmanship.”
A shipping date has not yet been announced, but Reinhard Pohorec, vp of Meerapfel Cigar, said they will be shipped in the upcoming fall months. “As one global cigar family, we can make a difference; Création Liberté shall contribute to its prophecy: preserving our liberty,” said Pohorec.
The company will be presenting Création Liberté at the InterTabac 2024 trade fair, happening this week in Dortmund, Germany.
