A manager of a Maryland cigar store was arrested in a murder-for-hire plot where he is alleged to have tried to hire a hitman to murder a rival cigar shop owner.

Last week, police in Maryland arrested Anoop Aggarwal, 22, of Waldorf, on multiple felony charges including solicitation to kill and murder. Multiple sources have told halfwheel that the target of the plot was the owner of Tinderbox of Waldorf, something that has now been confirmed by Southern Maryland News Net.

According to police, Aggarwal was being investigated for other criminal charges when detectives uncovered the plot. He is alleged to have been selling and trading cocaine to people for money and stolen goods. Once they realized the murder-for-hire plot, undercover agents met with him where he offered to pay $3,000-4,000 to have the owner of Tinderbox of Waldorf killed.

Aggarwal is listed as the person of record for Smoking Room 301, a cigar and hookah lounge in Waldorf.

In addition to the murder-for-hire charges, Aggarwal has been charged with two felony counts of distribution of a controlled substance.
