A trio of new cigars that Tatuaje debuted at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show earlier this month are on their way to stores.
The L’Atelier Roxy is a new 3 1/2 x 50 petit robusto vitola for the original L’Atelier and L’Atelier Maduro lines, and is named for one of K.C. Johnson’s dogs, Roxy, who passed away earlier this year. The original L’Atelier line, often referred to as LAT, uses an Ecuadorian Sancti Spiritus wrapper over Nicaraguan binders and fillers, while the L’Atelier Maduro uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over Nicaraguan binders and fillers.
“Some would say that the idea of having two blends in a box was because she was phantom, it also could be because she had two different personalities,” Johnson wrote in an Instagram post announcing the cigar.
The Roxy is offered in 20-count boxes, with each box containing 10 cigars of each blend. Pricing is set at $160 per box, which works out to $8 per cigar.
Also shipping is the Surrogates Big Ten Robusto, a 5 1/4 x 52 robusto, with a blend that uses an Ecuadorian habano rosado oscuro wrapper atop Nicaraguan binders and fillers. It is a follow-up to the Britanicas Extra vitola that the cigar debuted in, which is a 5 3/8 x 48 perfecto. That first size was a limited edition, however, while the new robusto vitola is regular production. It is offered in 20-count boxes, with pricing set at $9.50 per cigar and $190 per box. The line was released in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Surrogates brand.
The cigars are produced at the My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
