In July 2022, General Cigar Co. sought out the help of more than 2,000 of its La Gloria Cubana fans to create a new limited edition. Now, a second fan-themed cigar is set to begin shipping to stores on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

The La Gloria Cubana Society Cigar II features a Honduran habano wrapper, an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, with the fillers coming from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It is produced at General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago, Dominican Republic, specifically in a portion of the factory known as the El Credito Cigar Factory, a reference to the name of the Miami factory that originally produced the non-Cuban version of La Gloria Cubana.

The new cigar is offered in a 6 x 50 toro vitola, with pricing set at $12.99 per cigar and $129.90 for a box of 10 cigars. Production numbers have not been disclosed.

“For this, our second ‘Society Cigar,’ we have created a smoking experience that reflects the collective preferences of La Gloria Cubana fans,” said Cory Beardsley, assistant brand manager for La Gloria Cubana, via a press release. “This special release speaks to what this elite group of smokers currently looks for in a cigar, and we’re proud to bring it to life for them.”

The La Gloria Cubana Society line is named for the group of consumers who interact with the brand online via the brand’s website and offline at events and other activations.

The La Gloria Cubana brand is distributed by Forged Cigar Co., which is part of Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG).

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
