La Gloria Cubana Announces Limited Innovation 538

Less than a week after announcing the Gorda Gorda, a gigantic 6 1/2 x 64 Parejo for the Western U.S., La Gloria Cubana has announced the Artesanos de Tabaqueros Innovation 538, a 5 x 38 limited edition. The Artesanos de Tabaqueros line was introduced in 2010 and was the second of the Artesanos series from La Gloria. The Dominican cigar is known for its dual wrappers with a Connecticut shade towards the base of the cigar and Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf above it. Previously the smallest size in the line was the 650, a Toro.

Innovation 538 is limited to 250 boxes, making it an extremely small release for General Cigar Co. Unlike the Gorda Gorda, he 538 is not limited to a specific region. In addition, unlike the regular Artesanos de Tabaqueros, which come in boxes of 25, the 538 will be offered in boxes of 20. Pricing is said to be around $6.00.

Like the hefty Gorda Gorda, we were experimenting with different sizes on this one. Unlike the Gorda Gorda though, we went the other way and made a smaller version than what we might typically make.
