Joya de Nicaragua Rosalones Selección Bodegas Edición 2022 Heading to Spain

Joya de Nicaragua is expanding its Rosalones line with a new regional limited edition designed to be paired with a specific spirit.

The Joya de Nicaragua Rosalones Selección Bodegas program is centered around pairing a cigar with a wine or spirit. For the first year, Joya de Nicaragua worked with Agustín López, a sommelier, to identify the ideal pairing and Lopez chose La Rioja wines from Spain for this specific cigar.

As for the cigar, the Joya de Nicaragua Rosalones Selección Bodegas Edición 2022 is a 6 x 50 toro. it uses the same blend as the regular production Rosalones line: an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. Production is limited to 250 boxes of 20 cigars. The Rosalones is not typically sold in the U.S.

“I feel very proud and it has been a privilege for me to be able to collaborate in this great pairing with Joya de Nicaragua, a company with more than 50 years of existence and a world leader in the art of tobacco,” said López in a press release. “I have contributed my grain of sand to this project, where we have worked side by side, contributing ideas to continue innovating and creating Rosalones Selección Bodegas, where the tradition and history of Nicaraguan tobacco and wines from La Rioja come together. I hope that the people of Spain enjoy this excellent combination for the delight of the senses.”

Joya de Nicaragua says the Rosalones Selección Bodegas Edición 2022 should arrive at Spanish retailers in mid-December. Pricing is set at €6.90 ($7.34) per cigar.
