Joe Gro is leaving Quality Importers Trading Co. to join Casa de Montecristo as the retail chain’s senior trade and marketing manager.

The news comes nearly one year to the day after it was announced that Gro was joining Quality Importers after leaving Drew Estate as its senior digital marketing manager. Gro will report to Sherri Sieminski, who was recently promoted to the interim head of Casa de Montecristo.

“Life is about a journey and seizing opportunity when presented,” said Gro in a statement. “And that is why today I am announcing that I am resigning from my position at Quality Importers Trading Co. and excited to announce I will be joining Casa de Montecristo and Tabacalera USA as Sr. Trade and Marketing Manager. I want to thank Mike and Marilyn Giordano, and Alex Goldman for the past year. QI is a great company with fantastic products, many I was happy to introduce to you this year. You’ll see many more soon and I am excited to watch them continue to grow.”

Casa de Montecristo is a division of Tabacalera USA—a sister company to Altadis U.S.A. and JR Cigar—that includes 25 physical retail stores and lounges throughout the country, some of which are owned by the company and others are franchises.

Quality Importers’ portfolio of brands includes XIKAR, Cigar Caddy, Humidor Supreme, Hydra, Palió, Stinky and others.
