Janelle Rosenfield, the vp of marketing for Altadis U.S.A., is no longer with the company.
The news comes just a week after Rafael Nodal was given a new role with expanded responsibilities in product development for Altadis U.S.A, which sells Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, H. Upmann, Trinidad, Henry Clay, Gispert and others in the U.S.
Rosenfield told Cigar Aficionado that she had left the company after more than two decades at the cigarmaker. She is at least the third person to leave the company’s marketing department this year.
Rob Norris, general manger of Altadis U.S.A., told halfwheel the company would not be hiring a new vp of marketing and instead would be phasing out the role as part of a larger reorganization of the marketing department.
“After 22 years in the premium cigar industry, Janelle Rosenfeld has made the thoughtful decision to leave Altadis U.S.A.,” said Norris in a statement. “She will be continuing her career in the health and fitness industry, her abiding passion, and is looking forward to moving to California with her family in the spring.”
“I will not be announcing a straight replacement of the VP of Marketing role, the future marketing structure of Altadis will look different to take account of what will be needed in this market and category in the coming years.”
Altadis U.S.A. is owned by the British corporation Imperial Brands, plc, which also owns the JR Cigar and Casa de Montecristo retail brands in the U.S., half of Habanos S.A. and a variety of other tobacco businesses around the world.
