J. London Cigars’ newest limited edition, Mr. London, is on its way to stores.

It’s a 5 1/2 x 54 vitola that company owner Jonathan Fiant calls a “super robusto,” with a blend that uses a corojo 99 wrapper of undisclosed origin, a Mexican San Andrés binder, and a filler that includes criollo 98, habano 92, habano 2000, HVA and piloto cubano tobaccos, though where that tobacco comes from has not been disclosed. The blend was developed by Fiant and Eladio Díaz, who produced the cigars at his factory, Tabacalera Díaz Cabrera, in the Dominican Republic. Fiant noted that the cigars have been aged for a year after they were rolled.

Pricing is set at $18.95 per cigar and $189.50 for a box of 10 cigars. Production is limited to 400 boxes.

“This cigar is the introduction to Mr. London,” Fiant said. “Mr. London is a character I will use in different limited edition releases. Years ago, a friend of mine created the character for me, and I was honored. I told him I would someday use that character in a series of cigars that felt fitting.”

Fiant described Mr. London as a once-a-year release.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
