This is The Kentucky Double’s first year at the trade show, and owner Christopher Dangler was excited to show off his new creation that just hit the market in the past  year.

While the booth was smaller, there was plenty going on. All the product was nicely displayed, a video was playing showing the manufacturing process and Dangler was happy to tell me all about his new product and how it came into creation.

The Kentucky Double

Released in the past year, The Kentucky Double is a single piece ashtray and coaster combination made from FAS grade hardwood, 6061 aircraft grade aluminum, premium Horween leather and Kerckhaert Kings Plate racing horseshoes. Three different types of wood are available – red oak, black walnut and cherry – all carrying the same price of $99 MSRP and come with a lifetime warranty.

In addition to the three wood finishes available now, Dangler also mentioned that they are in the process of finishing a new version where the base is 100% aluminum instead of wood with an aluminum insert. There is no set date yet for when it will be available, though it should be in the near future.

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
