MLB Cigar Ventures did not have any new products to show off at this year’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, instead deciding to concentrate on servicing existing brands. However, owner Mike Bellody told me that there are a number of different cigars in the works for later in the year and beyond, including a new cigar from with Aganorsa.

The MLB Cigar Ventures booth was attached to that of Matilde, which makes sense due to the fact that the two companies started their own distribution company named SeiBel Distribution last year that is based in Miami. While the booth was not exactly hopping when I was there, it was the last day of the show, and Bellody told me there had been a fairly constant stream of visitors for the first two days.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
