Crux Cigars was all about innovation at this year’s trade show, with a brand new booth in a brand new location.

It also introduced three brand new cigars and a new vice president of sales.

Crux Epicure Galant

Following the release of the Epcuire at last year’s show, Crux decided to mix things up a bit by replacing the Connecticut wrapper on that release with a San Andrés leaf from Mexico. All three of the vitolas in the new line are the same as the regular Epicure, although it is missing the 5 3/8 x 46 corona gorda.

  • Wrapper: Mexico (San Andrés)
  • Binder: Nicaragua
  • Filler: Nicaragua
  • Crux Epicure Galant Robusto (5 x 50) — $10.00 (Boxes of 10, $100)
  • Crux Epicure Galant Toro (6 1/4 x 52) — $11.50 (Boxes of 10, $115)
  • Crux Epicure Galant Robusto Extra (5 3/4 x 54) — $10.75 (Boxes of 10, $107.50)

Production: Regular Production

Launch Date: December 2018

Crux Limitada Gunner

The Limitada PB5 is arguably Crux’s most popular and well-known cigar, so it is no surprise that the company is releasing new vitolas in the line. Both new cigars are rolled with the same Engañoso wrapper that is on the original PB5, a wrapper that Crux says is exclusive to the company.

  • Wrapper: Nicaragua (Engañoso)
  • Binder: U.S.A. (Connecticut Broadleaf)
  • Filler: Dominican Republic & Nicaragua
  • Crux Limitada Gunner (5 3/8 x 46) — $9.99 (Boxes of 10, $99.90)

Production: 1,000 Boxes of 10 Cigars (10,000 Total Cigars)

Launch Date: 2019

Crux Limitada IPCPR 2018

Having debuted in 2016, the Limitada IPCPR 2018 has returned. As with the past two releases, the cigar will only be available to retailers who order in person at the IPCPR show in Las Vegas and will be limited to 1,000 boxes of 10 and will begin shipping to retailers next month.

Crux Limitada PB5 2018

The first limited edition from Crux Cigars is returning this year in the exact same size as previous releases, namely a 5 3/4 x 54 vitola that will be limited to 1,000 boxes of 10 and will begin shipping to retailers in December.

  • Wrapper: Nicaragua (Engañoso)
  • Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf
  • Filler: Dominican Republic & Nicaragua

Crux Limitada Redline

Another new addition to the Limitada brand, the Redline is also rolled with the Engañoso wrapper and is the longest vitola in the line, albeit not the most expensive.

  • Wrapper: Nicaragua (Engañoso)
  • Binder: U.S.A. (Connecticut Broadleaf)
  • Filler: Dominican Republic & Nicaragua
  • Crux Limitada Redline (6 x 50) — $11.99 (Boxes of 10, $119.90)

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
