The Arturo Fuente/J.C. Newman booth was as boisterous as ever, with cheerful music playing and plenty of beautiful cigars and accessories to look at. All of the new Fuente cigars coming out were said to have a late September to early October release date and are all limited to 1,000 boxes.
Fuente Fuente OpusX 20th Anniversary
It’s the 20th year of OpusX, so here’s a special anniversary box. As for that lighter, it’s a highly limited piece from S.T. Dupont, more on that in Charlie’s S.T. Dupont coverage.
It should be noted, the company also has special lighters and other accessories being made by Colibri and Prometheus this year in addition to S.T. Dupont.
Fuente Fuente OpusX Rosado Oscuro Oro
Next on the list is the FFOX Rosado Oscuro Oro, a 5 1/4 x 52 robusto that will retail for $14.50.
Don Carlos 80th Aniversario
Along with the 20th Anniversary of OpusX, Arturo Fuente is also celebrating Don Carlos Fuente Sr.’s 80th birthday with his personal blend being used for two cigars.
The first is a 5 1/4 x 50 robusto in a 20-count box with two trays of 10 cigars and will retail for $13 per cigar. The next is a smaller size of their famous Shark, called the Eye of the Shark which is 5 3/4 x 52, retailing at $11.25 per cigar.
As in the past, these are available to retailers depending on how much product they order.
On the J.C. Newman side of the booth we had the new Quorum Maduro, retailing for $2-4 each it comes in five sizes: Churchill (7 x 48), Toro (6 x 50), Double Gordo (6 x 60), Corona (5 1/2 x 48) and Robusto (4 3/4 x 50).
Diamond Crown Black Diamond
Lastly, J.C. Newman was celebrating 120 years in business with its Diamond Crown Black Diamond. It should be shipping towards the end of the year, but many things were still being finalized including the blend and packaging, so not much information was available about it.
The company previously released the Diamond Crown Black Diamond Toast Across America Torpedo, although it was described as a rebranded Diamond Crown Maduro.
