The Illusione Epernay 10th Anniversary d’Aosta is off to stores.

On Wednesday, Illusione began shipping the latest size for its popular Epernay line. As the name implies, the 6 x 50 toro pays tribute to the 10th anniversary of the line. While it is made at the same factory as the regular production Epernay—Raíces Cubanas in Honduras—it is not exactly the same blend, though it remains a Nicaraguan puro.

Pricing is set at $12 per cigar and is offered in boxes of 10. Production is limited, though Illusione has not disclosed production numbers.

Illusione released the Epernay in 2009, an extension of the company’s ~eccj~ cigar which was released the year prior. At the time, Dion Giolito, Illusione’s founder, said that he wanted to create a lighter version of ~eccj~ that would be ideal to pair with Champagne. Epernay is the primary region in France for producing Champagne. d’Aosta refers to the Valle d’Aosta, a popular wine-making region in both France and Italy, though much further south than Epernay.
