The latest single store release from Illusione is off to Hawaii. More specifically, the Illusione MC Slam has arrived at R. Field Wine Company ahead of its September 5 release.
Measuring 6 x 54, the MC Slam is part of the now formally-titled Cigars Privé series from Illusione, which translates into private cigars from French, and will become the first release to carry the white on blue band that will adorn future Illusione single store releases. MC Slam, which is made at TABSA, uses a Mexican San Andrés “capa fina” maduro wrapper over a combination of Nicaraguan tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa.
On Friday, Illusione’s Howard Lenox will be at R. Field Wine Co. for the cigar’s formal release. Pricing is set at $8.50 per cigar and the MC Slam is limited to 200 boxes of 25 cigars. The MC part of the name comes from Marvin Chang, who serves as a manager for R. Field Wine Co. and heads up the company’s cigar operations, while slam designates the cigar is box-pressed.
Chang told halfwheel he will begin fulfilling out of state orders next week.
(An earlier version of this story misspelled Howard Lenox’s last name; it has been corrected and we apologize for the error.)
