Illusione has a new line that will eventually encompass five different vitolas. It’s called The Group of Five.

All five of the cigars will use the same blend, just in different sizes. That blend uses a high-priming viso of a tobacco varietal that Illusione says hasn’t been grown in Nicaragua until recently. In addition, there’s Nicaraguan criollo 98 and corojo 99, but Illusione isn’t disclosing which components are used for the wrapper, binder and filler. The Group of Five is a regular production line made by AGANORSA in Nicaragua.

The first size is known as ‘RB’, a 5 x 52 vitola that will have an MSRP of $16.95 and come in boxes of 15.

“There is just as much mystery surrounding the tobacco as there is about The Group of Five namesake,” said the company in a press release. The logo of the brand says, “whispering tongues are treachery” in both English and Latin.

Dion Giolito, Illusione’s owner, told halfwheel that the story is not yet ready to be told.

The company will show off the cigars to retailers at this week’s 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas. Giolito said he expects the ‘RB’ to ship by late April.
