There’s a special delivery for Hawaii.

HVC Cigars will send the La Rosa 520 Short Robusto to R. Field Wine Co. of Honolulu. The 4 1/2 x 52 size will debut on April 6 with HVC’s Reinier Lorenzo on hand for an event.

“Like every other size of La Rosa 520, I put my heart and soul into this project,” said Lorenzo to halfwheel. “It was done with a great deal of enthusiasm since I’m very passionate about this specific cigar. Marvin (Chang of) R. Field Wine Co. and I had the first conversation about this special project over a year ago.”

The La Rosa blend debuted in 2015. It’s a Nicaraguan puro with a corojo 99 wrapper from Jalapa. This will be the fourth different vitola for the line.

Suggested retail price will be $10, though due to Hawaii’s 50 percent tax on cigars, in-state pricing will be much higher. Production is limited to 100 boxes of 10 cigars.
