When HVC’s Reinier Lorenzo wants a “quick break from (his) routine to relax and recharge,” he grabs a small petite corona. Starting next week, you can too.

Next week, Lorenzo’s company will begin shipping the new HVC Hot Cake Maduro Half Corona, a 3 1/2 x 44 petite corona that uses a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua. It will have an MSRP of $4.80 per cigar and is offered in boxes of 25 cigars.

“Similar blend as the regular Hot Cake Maduro line with some adjustments to elevate the ingredients we find essential in our cigars: flavor, balance, and a clean finish,” said the company in an announcement.

The HVC Hot Cake Maduro is the original Hot Cake line, introduced in 2020 as a follow-up to an old limited edition called Pan Caliente. The Hot Cake Maduro was originally known just as “Hot Cake,” but earlier this year HVC added the Hot Cake Golden line, which uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper. While the line was originally produced by AGANORSA in Estelí, Nicaragua, it is now made at the company’s Fábrica de Tabacos HVC S.A. de Reinier Lorenzo factory.
