Earlier this year, a list of alleged 2016 Cuban cigar releases emerged and now, one of those cigars has been confirmed.

The list typically appears after Habanos S.A. gathers distributors at an annual meeting and it typically is fairly accurate. The “2016 list” contained two cigars carrying a 2015 date, both under the new Añejados program.

The Hoyo de Monterrey Hermosos No.4 Añejados and Partagás Coronas Gordas Añejados were both listed with 2015 next to their names, and now it appears the former is close to debut.

Last week, Mitchell Orchant of C.Gars Ltd spotted the Hoyo de Monterreys in packaging at the La Corona factory (Miguel Fernández Roig) in Havana.

Whether or not they appear on shelves this year remains to be seen, but given that they were being packed, their release is imminent. The Hermosos No.4 vitola measures five inches (127mm) x 48.

The global Añejados program debuted earlier this year with releases from the Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta bands. The program sees Habanos S.A. roll cigars and then age them in boxes for a minimum of five years.
