This year, Gran Habano was set to release a new limited edition cigar line for a celebration of something that take place on Oct. 31, though not Halloween. Rather, Gran Habano’s still to-be-named new line was designed to celebrate the birthday of George Rico, the company’s president, which also takes place on Oct. 31.

Originally, the plan was to have the cigar on shelves before Oct. 31, 2022 but that will not be the case as the company has delayed the three-size line, which still doesn’t have a name, until next Spring. The reason for the delay is because Gran Habano anticipates that next week it will ship its 20th anniversary cigar, the Gran Habano XX Aniversario Edicion Limitada, and didn’t want to release the two new lines to be released so close to one another.

Gran Habano intentionally opted to not announce much about the cigar; the name, the blend and pricing are still not known. What is known is that it will be offered in three sizes—5 x 52, 6 x 54 and 6 x 60—and it will be initially limited to 1,000 boxes per size. Furthermore, this release is not expected to be branded as a Gran Habano cigar.

The company showed off the cigar at the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show in July.
