German Engineered Cigars is adding corona sizes to three of its existing lines: RVGN, Raumzeit and Weltschmerz.
The trio is being released under the #21 Panatela Pigtail name, though all three cigars are not the same size. The RVGN Rauchvergnügen #21 Panatela Pigtail is a 5 x 38 corona that uses an Ecuadorian hybrid wrapper over a Dominican criollo 98 binder and Dominican, Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania fillers.
It is made at InterCigar S.A. in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
The other two cigars measure 5 x 37 and are both made at Tabacalera Tambor in Estelí, Nicaragua. The Raumzeit #21 Panatela Pigtail uses a Connecticut-seed wrapper grown in Nicaragua over an Indonesian Sumatra binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Jalapa, Nicaragua. As for the Weltschmerz #21 Panatela Pigtail, it uses an Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper over a binder from Jalapa and fillers from Estelí and Jalapa.
The MSRPs for the RVGN and Raumzeit are both $9.50 per cigar, while the Weltschmerz is priced at $10 per cigar. Each cigar is offered in packs of five.
German Engineered Cigars says it used the #21 name because the volume of each cigar is 21 cubic centimeters.
A soft launch event took place at Industrial Cigar Co. in Frisco, Texas, but the cigars are not yet ready to begin shipping to other stores. German Engineered Cigars says it plans on shipping the RVGN in late October, while the Raumzeit and Weltschmerz will begin shipping shortly after.
