General Cigar Co. has begun shipping the newest Macanudo.

Macanudo Inspirado Red is the first new line for the brand, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Notably, Inspirado Red is being made at STG Estelí in Nicaragua, a sharp departure from the Dominican Republic, where the brand has been made in recent years.

In addition to being made in Nicaragua, the cigar uses 12-year-old fillers from Ometepe and five-year-old filler from Estelí, as well as 10-year-old tobacco from the Jamastran Valley in Honduras. That’s covered in a binder from Jalapa, Nicaragua and then an Ecuadorian habano ligero wrapper.

It’s offered in three sizes.

  • Macanudo Inspirado Red Robusto (5 x 50) — $6.49 (Boxes of 20, $129.80)
  • Macanudo Inspirado Red Toro (6 x 50) — $6.99 (Boxes of 20, $139.80)
  • Macanudo Inspirado Red Gigante (6 x 60) — $7.49 (Boxes of 20, $149.80)

The Robusto size is box-pressed.
