On Monday, General Cigar Co. raised prices on most of its cigars.
While the company noted it lowered prices on some Macanudo and Punch cigars, most products are going up. Of 465 items on the General Cigar Co. price list only 16—or 3.44 percent—decreased. Another 68 SKUs, mostly value products and Dunhill items, did not increase.
Estimates show amongst the 465 cigars, suggested retail prices went up 2.59 percent or 22 cents on average.
A handful of lines no longer appear on the company’s price list:
- CAO Margaritaville
- Cohiba XV
- 1907 by Dunhill
- Dunhill Signed Range
- Partagas Benji Master Series
- Bances
- Pedro Iglesias
As we reported earlier, British American Tobacco is planning on discontinuing the entire Dunhill portfolio of cigars. General Cigar Co. is the U.S. distributor for Dunhill cigars and manufactures many of the lines.
In addition, the following items no longer appear:
- Macanudo Robust Ascots
- Macanudo Vintage 2000 Number II
- Cohiba Gigante
- Cohiba Black Gigante
- La Traviata Prismo Maduro
- La Traviata Luminosa Maduro
- CAO Brazilia Samba
- CAO America Four the Fourth Sampler
- Dunhill Aged Caleta
- Dunhill Aged Centenas
Earlier this year, the company announced the discontinuation of an additional 48 SKUs.
