Next month, Fortaleza y Libre Cigars will be releasing #GMFF, its first event-exclusive cigar.

The cigar is a 6 x 46 corona gorda vitola, and the #GMFF name stands for Good Morning Fortaleza Fans. In an email to halfwheel, Greg Free, president of Fortaleza y Libre Cigars, declined to give specific details about the blend but did say that the cigar includes tobacco grown in four different countries.

“Our goal with the #GMFF was to create a cigar that stands apart in our lineup and offers something truly unique to the industry,” said Free in a press release. “With tobaccos sourced from four distinct countries, the #GMFF stands as a testament to the innovation and craftsmanship that boutique cigar enthusiasts cherish.”

The #GMFF will only be available at select scheduled events and will be included with a qualifying purchase that will be determined at each event. There were 2,500 cigars made in the initial run, but Free said that the cigars will not be limited and will continue to be made at Tabacalera El Hoyito in Tamboril, Dominican Republic.

In an email, Free told halfwheel that the #GMFF will debut during an event on Jan. 13, 2025, at B&G’s Cigar Lounge in West Carrollton, Ohio.

I have worn many hats in my life up to this point: I started out as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, then transitioned to photographing weddings—both internationally and in the U.S.—for more than a decade. After realizing that there was a need for a cigar website containing better photographs and more in-depth information about each release, I founded my first cigar blog, SmokingStogie, in 2008. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars, and it was one of the predecessors to halfwheel, which I co-founded.
