The Espinosa Laranja Reserva Escuro 6 x 60, one of four new gordos for the company’s portfolio that made its debut at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show, is on its way to retailers this week.

Like the rest of the Laranja Reserva Escuro line, the blend uses a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper atop a Nicaraguan binder and filler. The Laranja Reserva Escuro 6 x 60 gets a box-press and comes packaged in 10-count boxes, with pricing set at $13.35 per cigar and $133.50 per box.

The release of the Espinosa Laranja Reserva Escuro 6 x 60 means that all four of those new gordos have shipped to stores, as the 601 Blue Label Maduro 6 x 60, the Knuckle Sandwich Habano 6 x 60 and the Knuckle Sandwich Maduro 6 x 60 have all arrived on retail shelves.

The Laranja Reserva Escuro line debuted in April 2019 as an extension to the Laranja Reserva that debuted in 2014 and became known for the orange-tint of its Brazilian-grown wrapper. The new line was much darker, however, and got a box press and a shift to 10-count boxes as opposed to the 20-count boxes used for the round vitolas of the original blend. The 6 x 60 becomes the fifth size in the line:

A representative from the company told halfwheel that the company is planning to ship one of its more notable PCA releases, the Las 6 Provincias ZDT, in early November, a bit of a delay from the originally announced shipping date of October.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
