Next month, El Septimo will release the Zaya Nueva Reserva as a limited edition exclusive to retail members of the Limited Cigar Association, and offering it at a significant discount for the first three days of its release.

The cigar is a 5 x 54 robusto that uses a Costa Rican wrapper, a Dominican binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The company is producing 15,000 cigars at its factory in Costa Rica, and while it will normally be priced at $28 per cigar, retailers will offer it for $14 for the first 72 hours of its release, returning to its full price on Monday, Oct. 10. According to El Septimo, there will be a limit of five cigars per person, with the cigars sold individually and not offered in boxes.

“Throughout our long history we have developed luxury products and services around the globe with the belief that everyone should be able to afford them,” said Zaya Younan, ceo of El Setpimo Cigars. “Everyone deserves to enjoy and experience luxury products and services.”

As part of the release, Privada Cigar Club will be saving a portion of the cigars to undergo aging for up to 10 years, with periodic releases of a portion of the cigars so that consumers can experience the blend with some age on it. According to a press release, they will be aged in cedar cases stored in coolers and humidified by Boveda products.

“This collaboration with El Septimo further serves our goal of keeping the experience of aged cigars at the forefront of the service we offer our consumers,” said Brian Desind, owner of Privada Cigar Club, out of which the Limited Cigar Association was created.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
