Christian Eiroa’s birthday cigar is now heading to stores.

Earlier this year, Eiroa—the founder of CLE—celebrated his 51st birthday and, similar to how he celebrated his 50th birthday, a special 10 x 50 cigar was created. That’s not a typo.

Last year, the CLE team surprised Eiroa with a special cigar for his birthday that measured 10 inches by 50 ring gauge in the eponymous Eiroa blend. The cigar was presented to Eiroa and retailers during a birthday party held during the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas. While the initial intent was not to sell the cigars at retail, retailers asked to be able to sell the cigars so CLE made a small number of the Eiroa 50/10 cigars for sale.

This year, CLE took the massive 10 x 50 concept and brought it to the Eiroa CBT Maduro blend. CBT stands for capa, banda, tripa—meaning the name is Spanish for wrapper, binder, filler maduro. While the origins of the tobacco are not disclosed, all of the tobacco used is maduro. This includes the wrapper, which Eiroa previously said is naturally darker because of the amount of sun and nutrients it receives, as opposed to wrappers that are dark simply because of their origin or how they are processed.

The Eiroa CBT Maduro 51 has an MSRP of $30.40 per cigar and comes in nine-count boxes.

“What a special night,” said Eiroa in a press release. “I wanted to thank everyone who attended, and a huge thank you to the C.L.E. Cigar Company team for creating this unique vitola of the Eiroa CBT which is a favorite of mine. The response was so overwhelming from everyone who attended that we decided to create a limited run just for retailers who attended the event.”

CLE has not disclosed production numbers for the Eiroa CBT Maduro 51.
