It appears that E.P. Carrillo will be releasing a limited edition Pledge of Allegiance Salomon in the not-too-distant future.

On Thursday, the company posted a blurred image of a cigar that appears to be the Pledge of Allegiance, complete with tags such as #HappyBirthdayUSA and a note that there will be 248 boxes produced, a number that corresponds to the upcoming 248th birthday of the United States. A representative of the company declined to confirm that the cigar is, in fact, a Pledge of Allegiance Salomon.

The company also noted that the cigar will be an addition to another release, and given that it has been almost a year since the first Pledge of Allegiance was released, the tie-in seems apparent.

E.P. Carrillo released the first Pledge of Allegiance in June 2023, but that cigar was a 6 x 54 toro. The blend uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, an Ecuadorian-grown Connecticut-seed binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and the United States. It was limited to just 1,776 boxes of 10 cigars, with pricing set at $20 per cigar and $200 per box. It was also notable for being the first time that Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr., the company’s founder and blender, is using two American-grown tobaccos as part of the filler in a blend.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
