E.P. Carrillo Announces Pledge of Allegiance
For its newest limited edition, E.P. Carrillo is leaning on a patriotic theme that gets its names from two of the company’s existing lines.
The cigar is called the E.P. Carrillo Pledge of Allegiance 2023 and it is a 6 x 54 toro that uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, an Ecuadorian-grown Connecticut seed binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and the United States. This is the first time that the company is using two American-grown tobaccos as part of the filler in a blend.
Pricing is set at $20 per cigar, and production is limited to 1,776 boxes of 10 cigars, according to Lissette Perez-Carrillo. The cigars are expected to be released ahead of the July 4 holiday.
Beyond the patriotic tie-in, the cigar combines the names of two existing E.P. Carrillo lines of cigars: Pledge and Allegiance. Selim Hanono, the former chief operating officer of E.P. Carrillo, is credited with the idea for the name.
