And the year keeps getting busier for Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. and family. As mentioned in our IPCPR coverage, by the end of 2010 E.P. Carrillo had released eleven cigars, and by the end of 2011? It was supposed to be a total of twenty-eight. Turns out there’s actually an eighteenth new cigar from Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. that will bear the EPC logo in 2011, the Elencos Elites Oscuro.
E.P. Carrillo is adding a Brazilian Oscuro to the Elencos line, starting with the Elite (6 x 54) in November of 2011. Elencos is a line added earlier this year, based off the Edición Limitada 2010, which was rebranded as the Elencos Elites size. In addition, Perez-Carrillo added two sizes: Acto Mayor (6 1/4 x 52 Belicoso) and Don Rubino (5 1/2 x 52 Robusto). In 2012, the other two sizes of the Elencos line will receive the Oscuro wrapper, as well as an unrevealed extension unique to the Elencos Oscuro line. Like the regular Elencos, the Oscuro wrapper hails from Brazil.
E.P. Carrillo is expected to release the Edición Limitada 2011 Dark Rituals in October and Crowned Heads, the much-anticipated new brand from former CAO employees, is set to release Four Kicks in November, the first client brand for Perez-Carrillo. In addition to the extensions to Elencos Oscuro, EPC is expected to launch Cabinet Selection with a special Ecuadorian wrapper later in 2012.
